Tomorrow is the first 'official' day of Fall! Fall is my favorite. I love all of the season for different reasons (hey, a rhyme!) but Fall is my faves :)

There is always, always, always a pumpkin candle burning in my house in the fall! My friend Theresa got me this one for my birthday. So yummy! So is the apple one.

Pumpkin cookies...in a pumpkin cookie jar :) (Recipe here) At least I remembered to pull out the cookie jar this year! Usually I forget...

But seriously, you need to make these cookies. They're super yummy. The recipe doesn't specify so I used about 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips. Yum!

Cadbury screme eggs?? Genius!! Whoever came up with this deserves a raise! They are soooo yummy!

Speaking of yummy...

Yeah, these were pretty good, too. I bought 2...just in case they sold out ;)

Despite the fact that we're still in the 80's during the day I'm going to try my best to get in the fall mood!

Project life 2012 // week ??? (sept 2-8)

Ok, so I have no idea what week this is and I'm too lazy to go through my calendar to figure it out! You don't care, right??

Since I already had my Noel Mignon kit that I used on my last layout so I just used it for this week's PL layout. The colors worked out really well with it so I went with it!

So I had a lot of pics this week because of Pig Out in the Park so I decided to add a 6x12 insert for those.

Ok, back to some much needed house cleaning...

absent

I know I've been a bit absent around the 'ol blog here this week. It's been a tiring week and, quite honestly, my Crohn's disease has gotten a bit bad. If you have no idea what Crohn's disease is all about, let me just put it this way...it's so much more than just having a 'tummy ache'.

And I've been so extremely tired that most days it's all I can do to just get through the day and get done what needs to get done. Unfortunately, most people don't understand this disease because I don't 'look' sick, so it's sometimes often very frustrating...especially when you feel like you're continually failing people because you just feel so sick a lot of the time. I usually manage to put on a smile but usually it's masking quite the opposite.

But enough about that...

I was working on a week in Project Life last night...but unless Addie gets a nap in real soon I will run out of light to take some pics of it!

So maybe tomorrow? Or Monday!

We spent the entire day at the ball field today. My son has double headers for fall ball. Today...was awful. For some reason the league decided to put them against a team who was 1) WAY above them in skill and 2) WAY too old to be playing against them.

Yes, the league will be getting an email from me.

Kids are gonna lose. That's inevitable and just part of any game. But when you're pitted against a team that you have NO hope of winning against...well, that's just not even good sportsmanship.

The up side is that my son hit a ball out to the outfield. YEY!!! AND he caught a hit out in the outfield. DOUBLE YEY!!

Seriously, is there anything cuter than baby feet?? And baby tennis shoes???

And chubby little baby legs?? Oh man...

She's finally walking around more on her own and it's so stinkin' cute. Love that baby Frankenstein walk!! hehe

remembering...

15 months

We woke up to some chilly air this morning. It's definitely starting to feel a bit like fall around here.

And despite the fact that you can't see one inch of my kitchen counters I decided to take some much needed scrappy time for myself. Of course, this was after spending the morning at the dentist office with a 1 yr old...which is always interesting! I figured the dishes could wait...and would certainly still be there when I was done!

Seriously guys, this little one is so much stinkin' fun! She cracks me up almost non stop!

And I have decided that it is much more fun to have kids when they have older siblings...cause we all get a kick out of her cuteness ;)

I used the Noel Mignon Evening Stroll kit for this layout & added the doily & Stickles on the butterfly. Nothing fancy, kind of my 'go to' design when I want to whip something together.

You may or may not have noticed that I goofed up when writing 'Sept'. For some reason I kept wanting to put 'June' because that's Addie's birthday month & I kept telling myself over and over 'write September!'...but I still goofed it up!

Haven't figured out how to fix it yet. I don't want to cover up the bottom part of that patterned paper cause I love it. I'll leave it for now. Maybe I won't ever fix it. Better the kids find out from an early age that mom's not perfect :)

I love short weeks! Especially when you're getting used to a new routine.

The kids went back to school this week. It was pretty easy slipping back into the routine. Addie has adjusted well to getting up earlier...and is compensating with a longer morning nap. yey!! Especially considering she pretty much only takes one good nap a day.

Yes, 1 yr old and only 1 good nap a day.

{sigh}

So I take full advantage of that!

My son had a great first day. My daughter...not so much. It seems there's a kid in her class who was less than nice to her. I will save the words I would really like to use and let's just say this boy is a brat and leave it at that...shall we??

{double sigh}

But it's getting better and the teacher it seems has already recognized it...which in my book is half the battle already won.

Speaking of the first day of school, it was also my birthday :) These pretty flowers came for me...

Aren't they gorgeous??!! Oh man, I could smell them even before the guy came up on my porch! And that sunflower is huge!!

Seriously, I haven't had something this nice since before I had kids!!

I've been drooling over these for a loooong time. The mustard colored one is my 2nd fave. I can fit my camera, lens, Fuji instax, video camera & wallet in there with a bit of room to spare!

Although, I will tell you, I don't think the colors on the website look the same in person. At least not with this one. Online it looks more blue but in person it's more green. Just an FYI.

But it doesn't matter to me, I still love it :)

So I guess this will carry me through the next 40 yrs. Right honey??!

Moving on...

I hit up an estate sale out in Deer Park this morning. I was a little hesitant driving out there because the ad on Craigslist didn't look super promising.

I was wrong. Love when I'm wrong about that!

When the van is full...it's a good day junkin'!!

Some cute furniture pieces. About 10 gorgeous big frames (one I'm definitely keeping for myself...stay tuned on that one!)

That little nightstand reminds me of the dresser redo I did for my daughter's room a while back...

Now to find room in my garage...hopefully I can manage to do that before the hubby gets home ;)

My garden is slowly but surely coming along. I planted it about a month late. I think I might have a batch of Romas by this weekend. That means some canning!

I have quickly discovered that my twine 'trellises' do NOT work with these Roma tomatoes. These things are growing EVERYwhere. It's crazy! I definitely need to use something better next year...

But they're working perfectly for the 'regular' tomatoes...can't remember what I planted...

Olivia's flowers are loving where we planted them...

Last weekend my friend Becky came here to celebrate my birthday weekend with me :) We've been friends since my sophmore year Science Fiction Literature class.

tried to lose weight {and failed}

tried to be happy with how I look regardless of the extra weight

tried {and still trying} to get my Crohns disease in check

watched my kids start karate & progress from white to yellow to orange belts {and my husband to green}

spent many evenings and weekends at baseball & soccer games

watched my 2 oldest celebrate their First Communion & Confirmation

went to Seattle & Leavenworth

went to Silverwood

discovered Starbucks has super yummy scones

tried lots of new yummy recipes thanks to Pinterest

missed friends I've had to say goodbye to

It's been a busy and fun year. Hard to believe I have hit the big 4-0.  

I've never thought of 40 as being old. But realizing that I'm old enough to be the parent to half the people on my kids' shows...that makes me feel old!  

Seriously, is this a joke? Well, if it is, bring it on!
