It's the last week before school starts so we're counting down the days. The kids got free tickets to Silverwood through a reading program at school last year so we decided to head over there on Monday & spend the day having some good 'ol family fun.
But first, this is how we spent our morning...
An old lady pulled right out into traffic & t-boned my van. And to think we actually swerved a bit to try & avoid her.
That's her car...minus the bumper that shredded the side of my van.
Oh, I should also mention that we just got the van fixed last month from the deer accident.
yeah
To say we were peeved was an understatement. Let's just say I used some words that I'm not going to share here! Of course, that was after a moment of sheer panic before I knew my kids were ok. I originally thought she hit my daughter's door so I was a bit freaked out for a sec. Turns out my door took the brunt of the impact...although there's damage all down the side & even on the back bumper.
The accident happened in front of a Subway & a girl came out & offered my kids some cookies & waters.I can't tell you how thankful I was for her. We'll definitely be vising her soon :)
My poor van :( It even broke the door on the inside. But go Kia for keeping us safe! And after about a month and about $8,000 worth of repairs I should have my van back in good working order.
Let's hope no one else decides to pull out in front of me again. Please!!!!
After all that we decided that the van was driveable (despite not being able to use 2 of the doors) we headed on to Silverwood. We all needed some fun after that crazy morning! I gotta tell ya, I felt like Bo Duke trying to get out of my van! haha
To say the kids were excited was an understatement :)
I decided that I didn't want to fool with my big camera so all of my pics were taken with my camera phone. What did we ever do without camera phones??!
Silverwood was tons of fun. Now, I'm from Michigan so I grew up with Cedar Point. And pretty much every amusement park pales in comparison. Kinda like comparing a park to Disneyworld ;)
But I was pleasantly surprised. The park wasn't huge...which was actually kinda nice. It wasn't crowded so no long lines. yey! And the rides were super fun.
This one was nuts....!!!
Straight up that tower...backwards...so you're way up in the air facing directly down at the pavement...then forward through loops and up to the next loop....facing straight up this time...then through the whole thing again...backwards.
Like I said...nuts!!! But lots of fun!
Olivia always makes that face before riding a new ride. Then after all I hear is 'let's ride that again!!!!!'
Addie rode her first ride and loved it. I see another roller coaster nut in our future...just like her big brother & sister ;)
We didn't get to ride everything since we got there about an hour and a half late. But we did enough to have an awesome time...and I got to spray some water at my hubby & kids when they went on a water ride...so it was a great day!
