I have a quick and easy tutorial over on the 3 Scrappy Boys forum on making these cute flowers out of vintage dictionary paper that came in the April Main kit. I also used one in this layout. You can check it out here!
To get the succession of photos in this layout I used the action setting on my camera. If you haven't used it before most cameras have it and it's great for getting pics like this. I'm certainly no camera expert by any stretch of the imagination but I use this setting all the time to get great mid-action shots of my kids & pets. It's great for my son's baseball games!
The action setting works best outside since your camera has little time to focus between pics. The ones above were literally taken seconds apart. I also set the photos next to each other, 'stepping down', in order to show movement.
The papers in this kit were begging to be cut up with all of those sharp angles! I added some stitching to accentuate them. I also made a flower out of that dictionary paper for an added embellishment.
Next time you're playing around with your camera, try out the action setting! You can get pics like this...
These pics are from this post. I knew I wanted to show the sequence of events in these pics so I printed them out in a filmstrip. Love that pink paper. It killed me to not use the other side of the sheet but the pink went so well with my photos :)
I got a little messy with this one! I punched some stars for a mask & sprayed with some blue glimmer mist. Love that 'play' bingo card...when I saw that I immediately knew I'd be cutting that out. I used that kraft envelope as a backdrop for my photo.
Happy Friday the 13th!!! My brother was actually born on Friday the 13th (but in March). And I was born on Labor Day. Funny huh?!
I have a layout to share today. I'm working on a few Project Life posts which will probably go up this weekend. I'm a bit behind this week with a teething baby who woke up every.single.hour the night before last, a husband out of town (who's coming home today - yey!), and the usual school, karate, orchestra, etc etc etc.
I did this layout with the 3 Scrappy Boys November Trio kit along with the SC label stickers & Maya Road calendar from the December Add on (links at the bottom).
I loved the papers but the colors in my photo were a bit off so I changed it to black and white.
Here's the before photo:
See what I mean? The red would have thrown it off. I also cropped out my dog's nose ;) I love printing pics with a white border, just love the look of that.
I had a lot of journaling, but not in paragraph form, so I typed it out in list form & cut it into strips then added some of the Prima crystals (found in both kits) in random spots.
And, of course, after doing this post I realized I had a typo on my page...figures! I've already gone back & fixed it :)
I was psyched when I saw that there was a January Maya Road calendar in the kit. Sweet!
